Bhubaneswar: The schools in the Capital city celebrated the National Children’s Day Tuesday marking the 134th birthday of India’s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru BJEM School.
BJEM School started the celebration by offering tributes to the portrait of Pandit Nehru. Students participated in various fun-filled activities.
A talent show was organised for Lower Nursery to Class VI students. ‘Fun Fair-Meena Bazaar’ was the centre of attraction as students gathered around the food stalls to enjoy various delicacies. Games corners as well as art and craft stalls were also put up by the students. Principal Sandhya Jena highlighted Nehru’s achievements and encouraged the children to honour the teacher-student relationship.
SAI International School also celebrated the occasion by organising a patriotic play presented by teachers for the students. School chairperson Silpi Sahoo wished the children a bright future on the occasion.
Prabhujee English Medium School felicitated the talents of young students through a number of competitions. School Principal Abhaya Kumar Rath gave the welcome address. Institute of Physics Director Karunakar Nanda and CSIR-IMMT Chief Scientist & Head, HRD Danda Srinivas Rao, attended the function as guests. They ignited the young minds to dive into the world of science.
An exhibition was organised with hundreds of projects in science, mathematics, social science, art, and craft to promote scientific research-oriented minds among the children.
ODM Public School also celebrated the day with several events. ODM Education Group chairman Satyabrata Minaketan said, “In the canvas of learning, laughter, and dreams of young minds add vibrant strokes.
Today, we celebrate the spirit of boundless curiosity, unfettered, joy, and aspirations that soar high. May the innocence of childhood continue to inspire and illuminate their educational journey!”
Blossoms School celebrated Children’s Day to mark the innocence and purity of young students. The teachers made sure that the students enjoyed their special day. The young students of the Foundational Stage dressed up as per the theme for their fancy dress show. A number of activities including art and crafts, and handwriting were organised on this occasion.
DAV Kalinga Nagar organised a number of activities including chorus and dance. A skit was also performed by the teachers.
