Saranda: A 62-year-old man was killed in a road accident after a tractor hit the scooty he was riding near the post office in Attabira of Bargarh district Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Nilamani Mohapatra of Saranda village.
When Nilamani had gone to Attabira for some work, a tractor hit and ran over him near the post office, about 100 meters away from Attabira bus stand, according to reports.
The driver fled the spot with the tractor. The police rushed Nilamani to the Attabira hospital and was later shifted to VIMSAR, Burla.
While undergoing treatment Nilamani succumbed to his injuries, police said.
