Madhapur: A man was killed after being mowed down by a Mahindra Scorpio near Kiakata bridge under Athamalik block in Angul district late Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Bhikari Mishra (24), son of Hadibandhu Mishra from Sardhapur village of Madhapur panchayat.
According to reports, Bhikari, who was returning home on a motorcycle at 10 pm, was crushed by a Scorpio after the driver lost balance on the wheels.
He was rushed to the Boudh district headquarters hospital, where the doctor declared him brought dead.
The incident spread tension in the area. Police seized the body and sent it for autopsy.
