Bhubaneswar: A woman beating up another woman at the domestic terminal of the city airport over an alleged extra-marital affair was captured on camera and had gone viral in social media.
The woman, reportedly a journalist, caught the lady red-handed with her husband and began thrashing her in full public view.
“I was not thrashing her but just defending myself. She had illicit relations with my husband for the last seven years. I tried to contact my husband as my son was ill, but he did not attend my call. I learnt through my acquaintances that he had been to Bangalore with her on a pleasure trip.
I went to the airport just to confront my husband and as the woman tried to intervene amidst us, I just defended myself. I didn’t know that this would be captured on camera,” said Sheela Patnaik, the journalist. Sheela also met the deputy commissioner of police (DCP), who assured her of proper action in the issue.
She had filed complaints in several forums including Madhyam against her husband and his lover, and alleged that she had earlier requested the woman to stay away from her husband.
Recently, another video of two girls thrashing a man, who had affair with both of them, had gone viral. The women had lodged complaints against the man alleging that he was married and had started extra-marital relationship with them. The man had also filed a counter plaint alleging blackmailing.
