Security beefed up at NISER

Puri/Jatni: About 40 platoons of police will be deployed at National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Jatni for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to the institution February 7.
This was stated by director general of police (DGP) KB Singh who reviewed the security arrangement Thursday ahead of the PM’s visit to the institute.
While reviewing the security at the helipad and the stage prepared for Modi, Singh said one IG along with four SP-rank officials will be stationed at the venue.
“Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place for the PM’s visit. We have decided to deploy one IG and four SP-rank officials to prevent any untoward incident during the PM’s visit to the institute,” Singh said.
The DGP also visited Puri Thursday and reviewed the security arrangement at the Srimandir and other places. He also took stock of the security situation at the helipad where Modi’s helicopter will land February 7.
The DG also held a meeting with all the police officers at SP office here. DG said that his department and SPG (special protection group) will work cordially to make the security arrangement fool-proof. PNN
