Khurda: A 17-year-old boy fell into a waterfall and died while taking a selfie at Baghamari village near Town Police in this district Sunday morning.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Papu Samal and four of his friends had gone for a picnic at the Atri hot water spring in Baghamari village.
Papu, hailing from Siripur in Bhubaneswar, accidentally slipped into the waterfall while taking a selfie and he had been washed away by the strong current.
In a joint effort by local people and Begunia fire brigade personnel, his body was recovered from the water after hours of search operation.
The body was sent for post-mortem.
