Shifted police officials unwilling to work at new places

Bhubaneswar: At least 11 days after the commissionerate police transferred six inspector-rank officers from their present places of work, they are yet to assume charge at their new places of posting.
The transfer order was issued by then twin-city Police Commissioner Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma, who is currently vigilance director of the state police. Sources said a few inspectors are reluctant to assume charge at their new places of posting
“The inspector-in-charge of Tamando police station is reluctant to join as the inspector-in-charge of Sahid Nagar police station, where he was transferred, since it is one of the busiest police stations in the city. Likewise, a few other inspectors are also reluctant to assume their duties at their new places of posting, and they expect the current Police Commissioner, YB Khurania, may cancel the transfer orders,” said an official. Well-placed sources, however, said cancellation of the transfer order is unlikely.
The public relation officer of the commissionerate police, Bishnu Mishra, told Orissa POST that there is no plan to cancel the order and that the transferred inspectors will take charge at their new places of posting soon. “No specific date was put for these transferred inspectors to assume charge at their new places of work. They will be taking charge as per the transfer order soon,” he said.
As per the notification following the transfer order, Sahid Nagar police station inspector-in-charge Deepak Kumar Mishra was transferred to Chandrasekharpur police station, while Chandrasekharpur police station IIC Devi Shankar Pratap was transferred to Airfield police station. Airfield police station IIC Bharat Sahoo was posted to Laxmisagar police station, while Laxmisagar police station IIC Rajat Kumar Ray was transferred to the DIB section of the commissionerate police. Tamando police station IIC Kishore Mund was shifted to Sahid Nagar police station; and KP Mishra, who was earlier posted in the DIB section, was transferred to Tamando as it’s the IIC.
In March 2015, the commissionerate police had transferred one ACP and 14 inspectors. PNN
