Berhampur/Bolangir: Four minors including two brothers met their watery graves in two separate incidents in Ganjam and Bolangir districts Wednesday.
In the first incident, two minor brothers drowned in Rushikulya river near Bhimpur village under Purushottampur block in Ganjam district Wednesday morning.
The deceased have been identified as Sangram Pradhan (17), a Plus II student, and his younger brother Subham (13), a Class VIII student.
According to reports, the siblings drowned in the river after they accidentally slipped into it while taking bath. Some boys, who were also taking bath in the river, ran back home and informed the duo’s family members about the incident that occurred at 9.40 am.
Similarly, two minor girls met watery grave while taking bath in a pond at Khazikana village under Deogaon tehsil in Bolangir district. The deceased were identified as Megha Potta (8) and Jhili Bhoi (8).
Following the incident, both the girls were rushed to the hospital where they were declared brought dead by the doctors, sources said. Meanwhile, the Tusura police have started an investigation into the incident.
