Baliguda: In a horrific incident, a youth died while his brother was left battling for life after the two siblings were shot at by their cousin over a family feud Tuesday morning.
The heinous incident was reported from Kameri village of Baliguda area in Kandhamal district.
As per sources, a rift prevailed between the two brothers and their cousin over some family feud and land dispute. Things took an ugly turn after the three broke out in an altercation over the same issue Tuesday morning.
The verbal duel turned violent when the enraged accused pulled the trigger on the duo.
While one of the bothers died on the spot, another sustained bullet injuries. The injured brother was rushed to a nearby hospital where his health condition was stated to be critical. He was then rushed to Phulbani-based district headquarters hospital.
Meanwhile, the accused brother fled from the spot after committing the crime.
Police reached the spot and registered a case against the absconding accused. A manhunt is on to nab the accused, sources said.
