Bhubaneswar: A sudden raid at Jharpada special jail led to seizure of a SIM card and a huge cache of contraband.
A team of Commissionerate police led by Bhubaneswar DCP Anup Sahoo conducted a surprise raid at Jharpada jail and seized a SIM card and narcotics including gutkha, beedi, gajna, lighters and match boxes from various cells of the prison.
“Ahead of the polls, it is customary that raids are conducted in jails to know if there are any misdeeds going on,” said DCP Anup Sahoo.
