Six killed in road mishaps

Keonjhar: At least six persons were killed in separate road accidents in Keonjhar district Friday.

Two bikers were critically wounded when an iron-laden truck hit them at Palaspanga chhak in the morning. They succumbed to  their injuries on their way to a hospital.

The deceased were identified as Laxman Bandra and Soren Hambram.

Another accident took place at Jamuhotapokhari on NH 19 in the morning. A bus ran over a biker, identified as Rabindra Kumar Mohant.

Another biker, Prafulla Nayak of Kunga village bumped his bike on a road-side tree and died instantaneously at Pandapada.

A motorcyclist and a pillion rider died after their bike rammed a truck at Dhenkikote bridge under Ghatagaon police limits in Keonjhar district.

The deceased was identified as Nabakishore Singh of Ninua and Tankadhar Mohant of Sarashpasi. The two were going to Ghatagaon from Keonjhar when the rider lost control over the vehicle and rammed into a truck.

On being informed, the police reached the health centre and sent the bodies for post-mortem.
