Bhadrak: A six-year old boy who was reportedly kidnapped by his cousin was found murdered and his body crammed into a bag in Nangamahal area under Purunabazaar police limits in Bhadrak district Thursday.
The boy was identified as Sheikh Sanwar, son of Sheikh Idu. The boy went missing Wednesday evening, his family said.
Sanwar’s sister Nayesha told police she later received an anonymous phone call from a person stating that Sanwar was kidnapped and was in their custody. The kidnapper went on to demand a ransom of `6 lakh to free the boy.
The family then immediately informed Purunabazaar police who began tracking the phone number from which the call was made. Police soon learnt that the number belonged to a local. Police intensified search operations and raided several places in the town, and finally arrested an accused.
