Bhubaneswar, Jan 17: Job aspirants in the state are facing a tough time filing job applications online through the website of the Orissa Staff Selection Commission (OSSC).
The people claim that filling up a job form is a tiresome task as it usually takes four to five hours, adding that sometimes they even find themselves unable to continue.
Moreover, the students also often find that they are unable to continue when they click the final submission button after completing the whole process.
This has become a cause of concern for thousands of people who apply for the various jobs notified by OSSC, which handles the recruitment for various jobs under the state government.
“I was trying to apply for the Oriya translator job. It took around three hours for me to complete the process of applying for the job. Finally when I clicked on the final submission button, I found that I was unable to continue. I had to restart the process,” said Kalyani Acharya.
“The problem has occurred because of the heavy rush of applicants. In view of the problem, we have extended the dates for application for the five examinations to be held shortly. The candidates need not panic,” said OSSC secretary BC Das.
“This is a bandwidth problem. We are working on. It will be solved in one or two days,” said Saroj Tripathy, deputy general manager of the Orissa Computer Application Centre, which has developed the OSSC website and is in charge of maintaining it.
