Chhatrapur: Tragedy struck a family at Bipulingi village under Chhatrapur police limits in Ganjam district Monday night when a youth died by suicide by consuming pesticide. Unable to bear the loss of his mother who was murdered only 13 days back, Debashis Choudhury took the drastic step.
Sources said that Debashis had gone into depression since his mother Suprava’s death a few days back. A pesticide packet was recovered from near his body. Family members rushed him to the Chhattrapur hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Suprava was sleeping at night when she was brutally hacked to death February 16 by miscreants. Since then, police have also not been able to make much headway into the case. Family members said that Debashis was becoming moody and depressed with each passing day since his mother’s death. They alleged police inaction in probing the death of Suprava led to the death of Debasish.
