Sonakshi supports dad’s move

Mumbai: Actor Sonakshi Sinha has said that her father Shatrugan should have quit the BJP a long time back. The former BJP MP is all set to join the Congress and will contest from the Patna Sahib constituency in Bihar.

“I think if you are not happy about anything then you have to make changes and he did the same. I hope that after new engagement with the Congress, they can do even better,” Sonakshi stated reacting to the latest development in her father’s political career.

According to media reports, Shatrugan met Congress president (Rahul Gandhi) at his residence in New Delhi Thursday and expected to join the party April 6.

Sonakshi said that her dad has been insulted by the BJP. “My father was a part of the party (BJP) from the beginning and was member of the party from the time of Narayana ji, Atal ji and Advani ji, I feel that he and this whole group were not respected within the party. My father delayed the decision to join the Congress that decision should have been done long before,” said Sonakshi.

Shatrughan had represented Bihar’s Patna Sahib seat for the last 10 years getting elected on a BJP ticket. However, this time the saffron party has replaced him with Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.
