Soro: In a shocking incident, two girl students who were best friends were found dead under mysterious circumstances at Tentei village under Anantapur panchayat this block in Balasore district early Saturday.
The two minor girls are believed to have committed suicide by consuming poison, but the investigators have not ascertained any reason in this regard, so far.
The deceased have been identified as Laxmipriya Das and Priyanka Das, both students of Class X in Tentei High School.
According to reports, the two girls were close friends who had gone to their tuition class in the morning and returned in the evening. Later, after dinner, the two went to sleep in Laxmipriya’s house while their family members went to sleep in an adjacent room.
When the two did not show up on time for school, Laxmipriya’s family members went to wake them up. They were shocked to find the two young girls dead in a bed. They then alerted their neighbours who informed the police.
On being informed, a police team reached the village and seized the bodies and sent those for autopsy. However, the family members of both the girls are at a loss to understand the reasons behind the extreme step taken by the friends.
