Nayagarh: A special passenger train rolled out from Nayagarh railway station to Kharagpur Tuesday. The new service has fulfilled a long standing demand of the residents for train service to Bhubaneswar.
Among the passengers were two who travelled to Kharagpur – two to Bhadrak, two to Kapilas Road, 15 to Bhubaneswar and five to Begunia. The train after its arrival at Nayagarh station has been welcomed by locals especially senior citizens as they distributed chocolates and roses to mark the day.
The special passenger train-08005 will leave Nayagarh Town station for Kharagpur at 2.30pm on six days except for Sunday. It will leave Khurda Road at 12.35 pm and reach Nayagarh at 2 pm. It will leave Nayagarh station at 2.30 pm and reach Khurda Road at 3.55 pm.
The train has 11 general second class bogeys with two guards and luggage vans, station master Saroj Kumar Routray said.
