Kendrapara: The SBI’s Bazaar branch here has confirmed to the STF of Crime Branch that they have blocked five accounts (CA/SB STDR) of arrested gangster Tito’s wife and relatives holding Rs 16,42,565 connected to STF case No: 6/18, said Satyajeet Nayak, the SP of STF, Bhubaneswar.
The STF examined one Bapu Parida of Paradip in the same case regarding his links with the Tito gang. Parida was involved in around 25 cases of murder, attempt to murder and rioting. He has many vehicles and a construction firm that supplies sand and gravel, SP Nayak added.
The STF came across several complaints against Tito. One Sarojini Mishra and others of Golden Land Development complained against Tito and his associates to STF that 36 guntha land was taken at gunpoint by Tito.
Later, Tito constructed a garage for BIPL Vehicle and has been keeping gravel and chips there.
Similarly, one Premanand Lenka complained that Tito and his associates extorted Rs 70 lakh from him at gunpoint while he was executing a tender of Aul water resources department worth Rs 7 crore in Rajnagar.
Benazir Bibi, the wife of Tito, is going to be examined soon by a team of STF headed by one lady inspector in her house in Kendrapara.
Benazir, who is a housewife with no income, has many petrol pumps and bank deposits in her name along with BIPL. There is an Audi Q7 (OD 02 AA 0686) worth Rs 90 lakh in her name too.
The STF will also examine how Tito managed to get petrol pumps using proxies, said Nayak.
The district administration has asked the tehsildars of Kendrapara, Garadapur, Marshaghai, Mahakalapara and Pattamundai to provide land lease documents, including auction paper, number of bidders, highest bidder and persons who entered into agreements for sand leases in their tehsils.
Thursday evening, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, sub-collector of Kendrapara, said all documents would be sent to the STF office in Bhubaneswar.
