Keonjhar: A school headmaster was suspended after a Class IV girl student died of snake bite in classroom here.
The incident has been reported from Barigaon Upgraded Primary School near Ghasipur in this district Wednesday.
The deceased was identified as Mamali Sahoo, the daughter of Pramod Sahoo from Barigaon village.
According to reports, a cobra inside an almirah placed on rear of the classroom stung on the hand of Mamali during the class.
Even the teacher and other students in the class could not notice the incident.
Mamali died inside the classroom following the bite from the venomous snake.
According to reports, though some students informed the class teacher and headmaster about the incident, they did not take the matter seriously.
Later, the students informed the local people, who admitted Mamali to Anandpur subdivisional hospital, but the doctors declared her brought dead.
