Bhubaneswar: Subhranshu Senapati’s (107, 82b, 8×4, 6×6) brilliant century helped Orissa register their third successive victory in the men’s U-23 ODI Cricket League, Saturday. They beat Assam by 13 runs at JSCA Oval Ground in Ranchi.
Opting to bat, Orissa scored 311 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Subhranshu was well-supported by Sandeep Patnaik (71, 103b, 7×4). Devendra Kunwar (45, 46b, 2×4, 2×6) and Ranjit Paikaray (48 n o, 42b, 6×4, 1×6) played useful knocks lower down the order helping Orissa cross 300-run mark. Mrinmoya Dutta (3/70) and Kalam Raija (3/48) bowled well for Assam.
Assam chased in real ernest, but fell short as they lost wickets at the death. Spinners Rajkishan Patel (3/51) and Ashutosh Das (3/84) provided breakthroughs at the right juncture. Abhilash Gogoi (59 n o, 30b, 4×4, 5×6), Hrishikesh Tamuli (56, 64b, 5×4) and Prasenjit Sarkar (52, 66b, 6×4, 1×6) batted well for Assam.

Town Club in final
An all-round show by Bishal Kar (59 runs and three wickets) helped Town Club, Bhubaneswar enter the final of the All India Royal Cup T20 cricket tournament. They beat Nagpur XI by 34 runs in their semifinal game at Nabarangpur, Saturday. Town Club scored 128 for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. They then dismissed the visitors for 94 in 18.2 overs
