Sundargarh qualify for SL

Bhubaneswar, Feb 24: Swagat Chakra (5/9) and Suraj Singh (5/39) bowled brilliant spells as Sundargarh thumped Nabarangpur by 192 runs to qualify for the Super League (SL) of the Inter-District Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament here Tuesday After Sundargarh had posted 240 on the board, Swagat and Suraj bundled out Nabarangpur for a paltry 48. Meanwhile in another match Bijendra Kumar took five wickets as Boudh beat Bhadrak by Eight wickets.

The super leagues teams have been divided into four groups each comprising three teams. The matches will be played over two days between February 25 and March 2. Each side will be allowed to bat for a maximum of 90 overs. The final however will be played over four days – March 9-12.

(At Ravenshaw Ground): Sundargarh 240 (Waltor Tappor 46) beat Nabarangpur 48 (Swagat Chakra 5/9, Suraj Singh 5/39) by 192 runs.

(At SCB Medical College Ground): Bhadrak 69 (Bijendra Kumar 5/35, Tanmay 4/32) lost to Boudh 72/2 (Deepak Kanungo 44 n o) by Eight wickets.
