Mumbai: Fans are still coming to terms with the death of talented Hindi cinema actor Sushant Singh Rajput.
According to reports, the late actor was suffering from depression and was undergoing treatment for a long time. The actor’s cook said that his health started deteriorating after returning from a Europe tour in November last year.
However, Sushant’s ex-girlfriend Ankita Lokhande denied such claims and said that he was not in depression.
Meanwhile, an old comment by Sushant on social media on depression and mental health has gone viral.

Sushant had posted this comment as a reply to a fan on Instagram. This screenshot has been shared by photojournalist Viral Bhayani. A fan of Sushant named Aritrika asked him, “I am trying to sleep but a nowadays a good optimized sleep is a question. Dont know why I am still finding the reason why I can’t sleep at night. Am I getting insomnia or anything else??? @Sushnatsinghrajput.”
Replying to the fan, Sushant said: “Lack of sleep leads to more control of Amygdala and less in cortex, a process that leads to depression and more impulsive behavior. Once we remember this we could scare ourselves to sleep.”
Seeing this comment of Sushant, a user wrote “Jab sushant dusro ko advice de raha he ki depression se bahar kaise nikle to vo khud depression me kaisa ho sakta he (When Sushant is advising others how to get out of depression, how can he himself go into depression?).”
Notably, according to a post shared by journalist Barkha Dutt, Sushant’s therapist Susan Walker says that due to the conspiracy theories and misinformation on social media as well as the main stream media, about the late actor, she felt it was her duty to make a statement.
Susan Walker said that Sushant was indeed suffering from bipolar disorder which also led to him experiencing depression and hypomania. She also mentioned that Rhea Chakraborty was supportive of the late actor and also took care of his appointments made sure he seeks intervention for his condition.
