Sutraa fashion expo kicks off in Capital

BHUBANESWAR: The inaugural day of Sutraa Indian Fashion Exhibition drew a huge footfall of jewellery and apparel lovers at a hotel here Wednesday.

The two-day lifestyle expo is one of the most anticipated events in the calendar of the capital. Socialites, youngsters, designers and shopping enthusiasts thronged the event in huge numbers to get their hands on some of the best designer products from across the country.

Torrential rainfall in the city couldn’t deter the resolve of fashion lovers to attend the event. The exhibition-cum-sale event boosts 50 odd stalls housing diverse products ranging from designer clothes, jewellery, home décor items and food products.

Gargi  Dutta,  a dohar designer from Jaipur, said, “I am quite amazed by the response of the crowd in Bhubaneswar. People are queuing up at every stall to purchase their favorite products. With winter approaching, Dohars are being sold like hot cakes at the event.”

Sibani Mohapatra, a TV artiste who is going to make her debut in a Television soap opera, bought three pairs of Kundan-studded Rajasthani jewellery sets. Interacting with Orissa POST, she said, “I am quite nervous as my acting debut looms. I prefer buying jewellery sets from Sutraa lifestyle expo to any jewellery shops in the city. I hope it makes me look good on TV.”

A homemaker Sabita Patel bought her favorite ‘Masala Khakra’ from Ganesh Guava Candy stall which featured a range of food products like ‘Mukhasudhi’, ‘Pan Masala’, ‘Khakra’ and Pickle, all of which were readily available to clients.

Some stalls like Zoi, Questa and Avama jewellers allured more buyers due to their incredible collections.
