Bhubaneswar: The state government is placing strong emphasis on addressing issues concerning children.
To ensure quick resolution of child-related problems and strengthen child-centric services, the government will mandate regular and effective implementation of the ‘One Day for Children’ (Shishunka Paain Gotie Dina) programme.
The Women and Child Development Department has instructed all District Collectors to hold scheduled meetings at the district, block, and Gram Panchayat levels.
The primary goal of this initiative is to foster inter-departmental coordination among various government agencies and institutions working on child welfare.
Although specific meeting dates were previously allocated to districts, the department noted that several regions were failing to hold these sessions consistently as per the schedule.
Moving forward, strict adherence to the schedule will be monitored. Meetings must actively engage all relevant departments and organisations to ensure coordinated planning and execution for resolving child welfare matters.
Detailed records must be maintained at the block and Gram Panchayat levels regarding topics discussed, decisions made, and duties assigned.
District administrations will routinely monitor compliance across all three tiers.
Any lapses or irregularities in holding these meetings will attract corrective measures.
Furthermore, District Collectors have been instructed to personally oversee the execution of the program and submit regular reports to the department detailing meeting minutes, adherence to schedules, key achievements, identified issues, and follow-up actions taken.
