Bhubaneswar: Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) continued to interrogate Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Tapas Paul Monday in connection with his alleged role in Rose Valley Group of Companies chit fund scam.
Sources said Paul has so far maintained mum over his alleged chit fund business links in Orissa, but has said, “It is a good place.”
“Paul later claimed he was feeling unwell after which he was taken to Capital hospital. He is currently on a three-days remand of the CBI. Paul’s daughter Sohini appeared before the central agency Monday in connection with the case. Sohini had earlier acted in a Rose Valley produced film.”
The TMC leader has claimed that he has no role in the alleged inappropriate dealings with Rose Valley and that union minister Babul Supriyo conspired against him.
In another development, Artha Tatwa (AT) Group chief Pradeep Sethy, one of the accused in the multi-crore chit fund scam, appeared before the Special CBI Court here Monday. Sources said while Sethy deposed before the court in connection with the case, the next hearing of the case has been adjourned till January 13.
