JKPur, March 19: Acting on the basis of a report published in Orissa POST regarding two students of Karlakana School here in Rayagada district failing to appear in this year’s annual HSC examinations due to false information provided by their teachers, additional block education officer Laxman Murty went to the school and village of the students and recorded the statements of the teachers Thursday.
Murty also recorded the statements of the students and their parents.
“I have recorded their statements and asked the reasons for providing false and misleading information to the two students,” Murty said.
Murty said he has submitted a report to the block education officer Keshaba Chandra Meher. “I will go through the report Friday and take appropriate action in this regard,” Meher said.
According to reports, school headmaster Niranjan Hota and assistant teacher Umashankar Panda had given false information to Rabi Bidika, an ex-regular examinee, and Nilima Maniaka when they asked the former about the schedule of examination for MIL (Oriya) paper. Though the examination for the MIL (Oriya) paper was scheduled February 23 at Ugratara High School in Kumutipentha, the teachers informed the students that the examination was February 24.
When the two students went to the examination centre, they were informed that examination for MIL (Oriya) paper was over February 23. The teachers later blamed the school management committee members for the goof-up.
