Dhenkanal: Hi-tech decorations put up by various Lakhsmi puja mandaps here have enthralled visitors as the festival entered its fifth day Wednesday.
Theme based decorations based on heritage and mythology have attracted visitors. The whole town is bathed in colourful lights as evening descends. The decorations have
ushered in an atmosphere of a wonderland as lakhs visit puja mandaps.
The replicas on Statue of Liberty, teachings of Geeta by Srikrishna to Arjun in Kurukhetra, Lal Quila, Char Dham, Dasaavatar depicting 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, Charminar of Hyderabad , models of famous temples, mosques in the country have fascinated people no end.
A stretch of eight km of road starting from College Square (the entrance of the town) to Kunjakanta, bus-stand, Ganesh Bazaar, Mahabir Bazaar, Lakshmi Bazaar, Jawahar Chowk, Meena Bazaar, Kanchan Bazaar, Anand Bazaar, Baji Chowk, Chandan Bazaar, Karigar Sahi, Radhakrushna Bazaar, Padma Bazaar, Gopabandhu Bazaar, Gandhi Bazaar, Nehru Bazaar, Ratan Bazaar, Station Bazaar, Korian and Jenadei Bazaar have become talk of the town due to their spectacular decorations.
The puja mandaps have put up huge gates and colourful lightings on both sides of the road leaving people captivated.
This apart, the mandaps at Hata Road, Rameshwarpur, Bhagabanpur, Similia, Nirmalya Bazaar, Kaibalya Bazaar, Durga Bazaar, Deula Sahi, Jubilee Town-1, Jubilee Town-3, Kantanali bypass, Banamali Prasad, Mahishpata, Khamar Sahi, Kalika Nagar have erected similar gates and have put up colorful lightings on both sides of the road to attract visitors.
