Thieves on spree: Panchayat office, school robbed

Konark: Unidentified miscreants ransacked the Kadua-Nuagaon panchayat office and Hateswar Nodal Upper Primary School and decamped with valuable equipment along with some vital documents here in the late hours of Saturday.
On the basis of a complaint filed by Kadua sarpanch Susama Kumari here Sunday morning, Konark police registered a case (156/17) and initiated a probe into the incident.
According to the FIR, miscreants entered the panchayat office, broke the solar panels and made away with the water pump set, TV set-top box after snapping the electrical wirings.
The complaint further stated that some persons entered the Hateswar Nodal Upper Primary School that night and ransacked the school office. Besides the miscreants also stole a water pump set.
Acting on the complaint, Konark ASI Prafulla Nayak reached both the spots along with a scientific team and investigated the crime scene. When asked, Konark inspector-in-charge Arun Chandra Tripathy informed that an investigation is underway and the miscreants will be nabbed soon.
