You must have seen a mirror. what is the use of the mirror?
Actually, there is a big reason behind it. Engineers and elevator companies have installed it for this wonderful reason.
Construction of tall buildings started during the Industrial revolution. As buildings became taller and taller, lifts or elevators were added to make the commute to the top floors less taxing. But when people started riding in the lift, they realized that a lot of their time was being wasted.
People used to say that the lift works very slowly due to which their time was wasted. At the same time, many people said that they had always feared the elevator might break, or that they might fall victim to an accident.
The construction companies and lift specialists were concerned about how to solve the problems of the people, how to increase the speed of the lift and remove the fear from their minds. Then a knowledgeable person said that the lift is not slow, people think that the lift is low. Then that great man gave a brilliant idea.
The expert suggested to add mirrors inside lifts. By doing so, he believed, people will be able to gaze at themselves and if they lose their attention then they will not even realize what the speed of the lift is.
This trick was successful as after mirrors were installed, people were tricked into believing that the elevator’s speed had somehow become faster. However, in reality there was no change in the speed of the elevator.
