Berhampur, April 4: The Baidyanathpur police arrested three dacoits and seized a motorcycle, mobile phone and money from their possession.
According to the sub-divisional police officer Thakur Prasad Patra, the arrested were identified as Manoj Mallick alias Pintu (22) of Lochapada, Manoj Kumar Behera (21) of Gate Bazaar and Ramesh Swain (32) of Patapur.
Addressing a press conference, Patra said J Tarakeswar of Lanjipalli was returning home after closing his computer shop at Goilundi March 5. At around 9.30 pm, five miscreants waylaid him at Kamapalli overbridge. They snatched his motorcycle, `11,000, his driving license, a mobile phone and an ATM card from him.
During a vehicle check up, police arrested Manoj Mallick and after getting clues from him, the other two were also arrested. Police seized a motorcycle, a mobile phone, `1,000, an ATM card and a driving license from them.
Another two accused involved in the case are absconding. Police have launched a manhunt to nab them, the SDPO added.
