Bhubaneswar: Orissa registered a thrilling single run win against Tamil Nadu in the Super Over in a Group C match of the Senior Women’s T20 cricket tournament at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, Wednesday.
Opting to bat first Tamil Nadu notched up 108 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated overs. D Hemalata (28) and Niranjana Nagarajan (19) batted well for TN while Sushree Pradhan (2/16) was the most successful bowler for Orissa.
In spite of a 49-run partnership for the second wicket between Madhuri Mehta (37, 53b, 2×4) and Sarita Meher (23, 25b, 3×4), Orissa however, were restricted for 108 for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs and could only tie the game.
In the Super Over, Orissa scored five runs for the loss of two wickets. However, Priyanka Priyadarshini (1/4) just conceded four runs to help Orissa win.

Orissa men’s team lost 62-85 against Uttarakhand in a match of the 68th National Basketball Championships at Chennai, Wednesday.
