Bhubaneswar: Odisha golfer Lakhy Swain emerged champion in the women’s category of the Presidency Cup golf tournament at the Bhubaneswar Golf Club here, Tuesday.
In the main segment (0-18 handicap), Ajay Negi emerged champion while Olympian Dilip Tirkey finished runner-up. In the 19-24 segment Lakhy emerged champion while competing among me. In the senior category, Ramesh Ray and KC Behera ended as champion and runner-up respectively.
Quarterfinal line-up
Odisha will face West Bengal in the quarterfinals of the Senior National Women’s Football Championship while Delhi will square off against Tamil Nadu. In the other last eight matches Haryana will meet Indian Railways while Manipur will face Punjab. All the games will be played Thursday.
In the matches played Tuesday, Bihar scraped past Kerala 1-0 while Assam played a tame 0-0 draw against Punjab. Had Assam won the game, they could have made it to the last eight stage, but they failed to breach the Punjab defence.
