Berhampur: Cyclonic storm Titli may have departed, but it has left in its wake among other things, destroyed documents – ranging from educational certificates to Aadhaar and ration cards and assorted ID proof.
Those who have suffered loss of such important documents are now demanding that the government initiate a massive exercise to replace these at the earliest.
As students returned home from relief camps, they found to their horror their educational certificates and other important documents like birth certificates etc soaked in water and in tatters.
“We did not have time to take all the things with us. Out of fear, everyone fled to camps. However, all the houses were submerged and all import documents have been soaked. What shall we do now?” a local resident asked.
Students requested the concerned Boards to facilitate and provide digital mark sheets, migration certificates and pass certificates to those who have lost their academic documents in the devastating flood waters.
