Kendrapara, July 16: The Special Task Force (STF) of Crime Branch Monday produced Tito alias Sayed Ushman Ali in the SDJM court of Kendrapara after three days of remand. The SDJM, Nihar Ranjan Sahu, remanded Tito to custody at the Kendrapara sub-jail.
The STF Monday submitted the detailed case record, lists of seized properties of Tito and his relatives, along with the recorded statement under Section 161 CrPC in the court. After this, Tito through his lawyer requested permission to file a petition before the SDJM court.
The FIRs of three cases which were registered by STF against Tito and his associates were also submitted in the court.
Tito’s relatives allegedly acquired properties worth crores in the name of his wife Benazir Bibi and other relatives through organised crime, tender fixing, extortion and robbery.
To put a spoke on his illegal activities and business empires STF DSP Ramesh Chandra Thamb, lodged an FIR and the STF registered a case against Tito.
One Premanand Lenka of Rajnagar filed a complaint with the STF against Tito and his associates for threatening him with a pistol demanding Rs 70 lakh. Lenka was executing a contract at Aul in Patamundai irrigation division worth Rs 7 crore. The STF registered a case regarding this against Tito and his associates.
One Gobinda Chandra Mohanty, a resident of Fatehpur, and others lodged an FIR with STF alleging that Tito and his associates forcibly occupied 36 gunthas of land worth Rs 1.44 crore and stacked sand and chips. They said that when they protested they were threatened with a pistol. The STF registered a case against Tito, Kamalakanta Chaini, Muna, Sappo, Dilsad Ali, Chitto, Bapu, Fazaz Khan and 15 others regarding this.
The STF Monday produced Babula alias Suvendu Patri of Badabaranga and Sayeed Khan of Odia Bazaar in the SDJM court. The court remanded them to jail custody.
The STF June 30 raided the house of Tito at Dilwarpur and arrested him along with his six associates while they were planning a robbery.
