Bhubaneswar: Comparing BJD government with a defunct transformer, Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah Friday appealed his party workers to uproot the BJD government from power in 2019 assembly election.
Addressing a huge gathering of party workers here, Shah said, “The Modi government at the Centre is working as a power house and sending power through high transmission lines. However, due to burnt transformer (BJD government), it cannot be transmitted to villages and grassroots people.”
“If the transformer could not provide electricity from the grid to people, don’t just replace the transformer, uproot and throw it out,” Shah quipped.
Though the BJD has been ruling the state for 17 years, it has failed to provide basic facilities like safe drinking water, round the clock electricity, road, health services to people of the state, the BJP leader said.
“None in the Modi government is involved in corruption unlike BJD members. This government is indulged in corrupt practices like mining scam, chit fund scam,” he alleged. “If you form a line of chit fund looters, it will be as long as a distance between Bhubaneswar and New Delhi. Those chit fund looters, who think no action would be taken against them are in their dreams. Let the BJP come to power, all will be sent behind bars,” the saffron boss said.
He said Naveen Patnaik is seeing ‘lotus’ in his dream after BJP’s spectacular performance in the last panchayat polls.
