Daringbadi: With the onset of winter at Odisha’s Daringbadi—popularly known as ‘Kashmir of Odisha’—tourists have started thronging the hill station.

With temperature plummeting and the weather remaining completely dry, the atmosphere has become favourable for onset of winter.

The temperature in interior blocks continues to hover below 10 degrees Celsius in early morning. People can often be seen warming themselves around bonfires.

With bright sun in the day and the arrival of the winter breeze in the evening, tourists from across the country have started hitting the place. Tourists from West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, etc. are enjoying the winter by spending the night in Daringbadi.

Tourists have thronged the coffee gardens, children’s parks, Duluri pine forest, Lover’s Point, Patabandha Waterfalls, and Yogi Math among others.

Local BDO Gadadhar Patra has directed the opening of night shelters in all panchayat offices. The BDO has also asked the panchayat executive officers to give shelter to helpless people at the shelters.
