Bhubaneswar: Trap cameras of Odisha’s forest department have captured photographs of two Royal Bengal tigers in different districts of the state, an official said.

The photograph of a tiger coming from neighbouring Chhattisgarh was taken in Debrigarh sanctuary in Sambalpur district, while another big cat that might have come from Similipal was found roaming in Rangmatia forest in Keonjhar district, he said, adding the pugmarks are being analysed by biologists.

PCCF (wildlife) S K Popli has directed the forest department to install more trap cameras to track the movements of the tigers.

He said there is no threat to residents of adjacent villages as forest guards are keeping a constant watch.

People, however, have been asked not to enter the forests without the consent of forest officials.
