Inchudi village has a significance in the history of freedom struggle along with Dandi where Mahatma Gandhi had launched Salt Satyagraha movement in 1930.

Hundreds of freedom fighters including Gopabandhu Chaudhury and Acharya Harihar Das began their foot march from the Swarajya Ashram of Cuttack towards Inchudi with Mahatma Gandhi violating the Salt Law imposed by the British government at Dandi April 6, 1930,.

Several satyagrahis were arrested for breaking the salt law and many were injured by the British force. Thousands of earthen pots, required for salt processing, were also broken by the police forces.
