Cuttack, May 25:Trident Club thumped Juvenile by 70 runs in a match of the Laxminarayan Cup cricket tournament at the Rajkishore Bidyapitha Ground here Monday.
Opting to bat first, Trident rode on whirlwind half centuries by Avaya Mallick (51, 18b, 4×4, 3×6) and Prasanta Biswal (53, 24b, 8×4, 3×6) to score 235 for the loss of seven wickets in the stipulated 17 overs.
Chasing a victory target of 236, Juvenile lost regular wickets and were eventually bundled out for 165 in 15.4 overs. Sanjay Khuntia’s (42, 16b, 4×4, 4×6) blitzkrieg was not enough to the team’s rescue. Man of the match Anurag Sarangi (4/19) was the pick of the bowlers.
