Trinath hat-trick fashions SAI win

Cuttack: M Trinath scored a brilliant hat-trick Thursday as SAI-STC thrashed Town Club 5-0 in a match of the FAO 1^st Division football league here at the Barabati Stadium.

SAI-STC took the lead in the opening minute of the match through a Sabir Khan strike. However, in spite of dominating proceedings they failed to add to the tally in the first half.

However, in the second half, SAI went on a goal rush scoring four goals in a span of 17 minutes. Prabhat Dansena made it 2-0 in the 55^th minute. Trinath then netted in quick succession (65^th, 67^th, 72^th) to complete the rout.

In the other match of the day a 15^th minute strike from Dasarathi Kanhar was enough as Rovers Club pipped Mangala Club in a tough contest.

 

Unit-VI win

Unit VI Government High School beat DPS Kalinga by a solitary goal in a match of the Inter-School football tournament at the Unit-VI High School Ground in Bhubaneswar, Thursday. Bikash Nayak scored the only goal of the match in the 31^st minute.

The second match between Unit I Government High School and Ramakrushna High School ended in a goalless draw.

Odisha blank Arunachal

Odisha rode on a brace by Manisha Nayak (81^st, 89th) to blanke Arunachal Pradesh 4-0 in a match of the Junior Girl’s national football championships at Goa, Thursday. Deepa Nayak (23^rd) scored the opening goal for Odisha before Susmita Tanty made it 2-0 in the 69^th minute. Manisha then scored the third and the fourth goals to complete the rout.
