Patnaik had purchased a plot at Gandarpur area in the city and had started construction work of a new house. Hence, the duo threatened him for money, police sources informed.

Patnaik had alleged in his FIR that the duo stopped the construction work and demanded extortion amount saying that they are ‘Dadas’ of the locality. As the complainant expressed his inability to pay the said money, they abused him severely and threatened him of halting construction work unless he pays the amount.

The accused warned Patnaik of dire consequences if he reported the matter to police. During investigation by cops, it was ascertained that the two are aides of the gangster siblings.
