Youth murders younger brother over wealth issues in Nayagarh

Sambalpur: Police here arrested two persons in connection with separate murder cases in Sambalpur district, informed Sambalpur Sadar SDPO Tophan Bag, Sunday. The SDPO said that locals had discovered the body of a youth, later identified as Raja Bishi, 21, lying near Sasan canal at Balabasapur village Saturday morning and informed police. Acting on the complaint lodged by the deceased’s father, the Sasan police station began an investigation.

On the receipt of a tip off, police arrested Akash Ranjan Nag, 26, a native of Ghodapokhari village under Madanpur Rampur (M Rampur) police limits of Kalahandi district, from a house at Jhankarpada near City station under Dhanupali police limits, Sunday. During interrogation, Akash confessed that following an argument with Raja he lost his cool and hit the latter on the head with a bat, causing his death. The police have booked the accused under IPC Section 302.

In another incident, the Ainthapali police arrested a 20-year-old youth, Ayush Munda from the Mahanadi Vihar area under Ainthapali police limits for allegedly killing one Papu Shrivastav of Uparchhaka area under the same police station limits by bludgeoning his head with a stone.
