Digapahandi: Two brothers were critically injured after a bus operating under Mukhyamantri Bus Seva (MBS) hit their motorcycle at Samantarapur in Ganjam district Sunday morning.
The accident occurred around 7:30am near the Rajghai-Mahulghodani bend on NH-326 under T. Gobindapur in Sanakhemundi block.
The victims were identified as Cheru Pradhan, 27, and Anil Pradhan, 25, of Janakapalli village.
According to police, the brothers were travelling to wards Janakapalli on their motorcycle when the MBS bus (OD 07 AT 9456), travelling from T. Gobindapur towards Janakapalli, allegedly hit their bike.
Both were thrown onto the road and sustained serious injuries. Locals called a 108 ambulance and rushed them to the Digapahandi Community Health Centre.
Following first aid, they were shifted to the MKCG Medical College and Hospital in Brahmapur as their condition was reported to be critical.
Police from the Podamari outpost under Patapur police station reached the spot, seized the bus and motorcycle and began an investigation.
