Fake certificate row: Two lecturers suspended in Odisha’s Bolangir district

Bolangir: Two lecturers were suspended on charges of securing jobs by submitting fake marksheets in Odisha’s Bolangir district, a source said Saturday.

The suspended lecturers were identified as Narendra Nag and Lingaraj Meher. Both of them were posted at Rajendra Meher Higher Secondary School in Jogimunda village. The source informed that Nag used to teach Political Science while Meher taught Odia.

According to the source, both Nag and Meher had allegedly submitted fake marksheets with Sambalpur University’s emblem on them in order to get the jobs.

Following the verification of their marksheets, the state education department issued a letter for the suspension of the lecturers based on the report of the principal.

Subsequent to the suspension of the two lecturers, the college administration registered an FIR against the duo at Patnagarh Police Station. Both the lecturers have been asked to reimburse their complete salary amounting to Rs 31,60,252 each.

Moreover, the education department instructed the Patnagarh Sub-Collector to initiate suitable measures against the alleged fraudsters.
