Koraput: Two farmers including a woman of Semiliguda panchayat in this district Friday tried to end their lives by consuming pesticide, a report said.
They were admitted to the Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital (SLNMCH) here in critical condition.
The two were identified as Padlam Khara of Ramnayakput village under Hataguda panchayat and Radha Sitraboi, a woman of Parajakhudi village of Khudi panchayat.
The family members of Khara, after learning about his step, rushed him first to Kunduli community health centre (CHC). However, he was shifted to SLNMCH as his condition deteriorated. Khara had cultivated ginger in his farm.
On the other hand, Radha’s husband Sanu took her to the Kunduli CHC after coming know about the incident. She was taken to the SLNMCH after her condition worsened.
The reason behind the suicide attempts was yet to be ascertained.
