Keonjhar: Two persons were arrested Tuesday evening here after they allegedly leaked obscene photos of a young woman candidate for the upcoming Assembly polls. The photos went viral causing huge embarrassment to the lady.
The arrested duo has been identified as Jayadev Giri, a member of BJP’s Keonjhar district unit and his associate Bisnudutta Barik. While Giri was arrested when he was campaigning for a party candidate Tuesday, the cops arrested his associate Wednesday morning. The two were arrested after the uncle of the victim lodged a complaint with the police.
Sources said that the photos had gone viral for the last couple of days on the social media. The woman candidate came to know about the incident Tuesday only and then her uncle approached the police to lodge a complaint.
