Bhawanipatna: Two persons were killed when the car they were travelling in plunged into Indravati canal following a collision with a bike at Thelkomunda under Kalampur police limits in Kalahandi district Wednesday. The deceased were identified as Laldhar Rout, 82, and a minor boy from Rengalpali village under Jaipatna block. Eleven members of Baladev Rout’s family had gone to Nuagaon to see a prospective bride in a Maruti Ertiga. While returning, their vehicle hit a motorcycle near the left canal road at Thelkomunda and fell into the canal. Locals tried to rush Laldhar to Jaipatna CHC but he succumbed on the way. Later, fire fighters recovered the child’s body from the canal.
