Cuttack: Sexual assault against women in the state continues unabated with another woman allegedly being raped by two men inside an ATM counter.
The heinous incident has been reported from College Square in Malgodown area in Cuttack town.
According to reports, the woman was first abducted by the men who later forcibly took her to a deserted ATM where they allegedly took turns raping her by brandishing a weapon. After committing the crime, they abandoned her in a field, where she was spotted by locals in a critical condition.
On being informed, Malgodown police reached the spot and rescued the rape victim. She was admitted to SCB Medical College and Hospital here for treatment and medical examination.
On the basis of victim’s complaint, a case was registered under Section 376 (D) of the IPC.
The Security guard of the ATM kiosk and one of his friends were detained for interrogation, reports said.
On the other hand, reports suggested that the girl was not raped but she was a sex worker and was involved in prostitution work. Due to some financial disputes, she allegedly targeted the two persons and filed a false report against them that she was raped.
