Aul: The bodies of two minor boys of Lokapara village under Aul police limits in Kendrapara district, who were missing since morning, were recovered from a pond Saturday. They were missing since morning, said locals.
The deceased have been identified as Sheik Farhan (2) – son of Mohammad Farid and Abubekar (1 ½) – son of Nasiba Khatun of Lokapara village.
The discovery of the bodies in the pond has sent shockwaves in the area.
According to villagers, the duo slipped into deep waters while playing in the pond at about 8:00am.
Family members grew apprehensive after they did not return home. Later, their bodies were found floating in the pond. They were immediately rushed to Aul primary healthcare centre (PHC) but the doctor there declared them dead on arrival.
The bodies were recovered and sent for autopsy. The cops have registered a case of unnatural death and a probe has been launched in connection with the incident.
