Nabarangpur: Two orderlies at the residence of Nabarangpur Superintendent of Police Sunday raised torture allegations against their senior official.
The two complainants, Debaraj Chanda and Rabin Kumar Lima, alleged that SP Vivekanand Sharma used to beat them and forced to do sit-ups for minor delays in obeying his orders.
Chanda accused Sharma for abusing him and punching his belly.
Lima said Sharma made him run whenever he failed to wake up the senior official in the morning.
Lima, who fell sick after such incidents, was first admitted to the Nabarangpur district hospital and has been shifted later to Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital in Koraput.
Sharma, who could not be contacted, has reportedly assured Lima’s family of bearing his treatment expenses.
